Introducing Meyer Family Vineyards

WINE NEWS
INTRODUCING MEYER FAMILY VINEYARDS

The latest boutique winery from the Okanagan to make its debut is Meyer Family Vineyards -- the result of a two year project from a team consisting of owners Jak and Janice Meyer, James Cluer as GM, Rhys Pender as Production Manager, and Pierre Levesque as Vineyard Manager.

From a single 3.1 acre vineyard purchased on the Naramata Bench in 2006, the team will produce two different Chardonnays from existing 10-year-old Chardonnay vines - The Micro Cuvée and the Tribute Series.

The winery aims to honour the iconic BC artist Emily Carr, so with this idea in mind, they have been running a design contest for students and alumni of the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. The ten finalists will be exhibiting their work at the Emily Carr Gallery From February 5 - 15, 2008.

The three top winners, who will be announced after February 15th will split a $5,000 scholarship and receive their prize at the launch event.
