With holiday party season on the horizon, the people who brought us TrueBlue blueberry juice have come up with a stylish alternative for people who can’t or do not want to drink alcohol, or who are even determined to see their New Years resolutions to stick to a healthier diet, right through to December 31st.

Although packaged in a wine bottle and partially composed of wine grapes, Pure Blue is essentially a fruit juice.  Wild blueberry juice to be exact, with the addition of  unfermented juice from Merlot, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc grapes and a squeeze of black currants for good measure. Plus good news for anyone trying to stay squeezed into that new cocktail outfit, no added sugars.

The new product, sub tagged “the UnWine”, will go on sale December 1,  and its distributors, Leading Brands, Inc. , are hoping that the beverage’s claim to contain 600 mg of Polyphenols (antioxidants) per cup, not to mention the trendy packaging, will make it appealing to upscale, health conscious consumers.

Will it cure a hangover?

Probably not, but it might help to balance out a lot of guilt feelings the morning after.
