HCs For Your Dark and Stormy Fellow


He's dark, strong, rich (if you're lucky), but always unconventional. Sometimes he just drives you nuts. But underneath the initial reserve and rough edges you know he's the very soul of sweetness.

Ladies, here's a list of drinks selected from the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival that are sure to win over your man on Valentines Day. (See the complete list here.)

If we had a chocolate cafe we'd name all the dark HCs after unfathomable romantic heros: Mr. Rochester, Mr. Darcy, Heathcliffe, and Lord Byron. But that's just silly old us.



BEL CAFE

ORGANIC FILBERT AND SWEET SPICE - 36% Valrhona Caramelia Milk Chocolate,
organic hazelnut, hazelnut oil, chai spice
Served with hazelnut breton.



BELLA GELATERIA + IT'S TO DIE FOR BANANA BREAD

MACADAMIA NUT - Michel Cluizel milk chocolate
Served with Erin Ireland's famous It's To Die For Banana Bread.

BETA5 CHOCOLATES + THE JUICE TRUCK

"THE CANADIAN" - 63% dark chocolate stick stirred into hot milk
Served with bourbon smoked sugar marshmallow.



COCOA NYMPH

BLACK SESAME - dark chocolate (vegan)
Served with a wafer of sesame bianco chocolate bark.


CARDAMOM - dark chocolate
Served with coconut orange marshmallow.



LEONIDAS CHOCOLATES

"TOSCA" - dark chocolate and rum
Served with a choice of chocolate or liege waffle sample.



MINK - A CHOCOLATE CAFE

Dark Chocolate with Pistachio
Served with a 72% dark chocolate wafer.



SCHOKOLADE

FRESH GINGER - 70% single origin dark chocolate
Served with 3 truffles: Coconut & Ginger, Simply Sinful, Brandy.
